Smith goes to State

Hayden Smith, a senior at Hughes Springs High School, qualified for the State Tennis Tournament held at Texas A&M University in College Station on April 28 and 29 for the second straight year.
In the first round, Smith defeated Jeremy Fagan of Universal City Randolph 6-1, 6-7(0-7), 6-2 to advance to the State semi-finals. In his semi-final match, Hayden was defeated by Carlos Sabealdea from Tulia 6-4, 6-2. In addition to his tennis accomplishments, Smith is also the starting shortstop for the Mustang baseball team that is in the State playoffs.
