Lady Mustangs advance to Area

Nine girls advanced to the Area meet from the Lady Mustangs. The girls’ track team finished third overall as a team at District with 82 points. There were two relays that advanced to the Area meet. The 400-meter relay finished fourth in District with a time of 51.40. The girls that ran that relay at District were KaJza Murphy, Destiny Gonzales, Dejah Brown and Dynasti King. The 800-meter relay finished third in district with a time of 1:53.05. The same girls that ran the 400-meter relay ran the 800-meter relay. Dynasti King finished fourth place in the 100-meter run with a time of 13.51, Destiny Gonzales finished third in the 200-meter run with a time of 27.79, Katelyn Roth finished third in the 800 with a time of 2:40.87. 
 
In the field events and advancing to the Area meet were Kaitlen Martin who finished first at District with a throw of 35-5; Breanne Gunn finished third with a throw of 33-0 ½ and Dana Hampton finished third in the discus with a throw of 92-6 1/2.
 
These girls advanced to the Regional Meet: Alisha Barnard in the mile and the two mile. Kaitlen Martin finished fourth in the shot at the Area meet. Destiny Gonzales finished fourth in the 200-meter run at the Area meet.
