Medical Assistant Graduates

The Northeast Texas Community College Medical Assistant program recently learned that 100 percent of students graduating from the program this May have passed their professional certification exams. The graduating class members from left, are Irma Ruiz of Mt. Vernon, Kristy Fletcher of Pittsburg, Sara Sorrells of Mount Pleasant, Sheravon Hopkins of Hughes Springs and Holly Mayers of Cumby. The Medical Assisting program is a 24-month curriculum designed to prepare individuals to perform the duties of a medical assistant who functions in an acute care clinical setting or physician’s office in the areas of medical office administration, clinical lab procedures and examining room assisting. Upon completion of the program the graduate will be awarded an Associate of Applied Science degree and is eligible to test for the National Certification Medical Assisting (CMA) exam offered through the American Association of Medical Assistant (AAMA).
