A Daingerfield man was arrested in Lone Star and charged with possession of dangerous drugs, according to Lone Star Police Chief Larry Fleet.
“Roy James Furlow, 48, was arrested on June 7, by Officer Steven Blythe after a traffic stop,” Chief Fleet said. “Officer Blythe noticed the vehicle had a brake light out and conducted a traffic stop. Mr. Furlow admitted to buying drugs and gave $30 for the purchase. The drugs discovered were xanax, hydrocodone and valium.”
Mr. Furlow was charged with possession of dangerous drugs and was booked into the Morris County Jail on a state jail felony. State jail felonies are punishable by 180 days to two years in a state jail facility and a maximum fine of $10,000. State jail facilities are operated by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. State jail sentences are unique in that persons incarcerated in a state jail facility cannot be released early for good behavior.
