A Naples woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident July 1, when a deer ran into the side of her vehicle, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Raymond Haley. The accident occurred on Highway 259 approximately five miles north of Daingerfield.
“Norma Prestwood, 85, of Naples, was traveling north on Highway 259 in theleft hand inside lane when a deer ran out from her left side and smacked the driver’s door,” Trooper Haley said. “The deer went up, landed on the windshield and busted the driver’s side windshield of the 2007 Buick Lucerne. Ms. Prestwood was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway after the impact.”
Ms. Prestwood was transported to Titus Regional Medical Center by Champion Emergency Medical Services ambulance for treatment.
