Fowler captures East Texas Student Athletic Trainer of the Year

A 2014 graduating senior and Valedictorian of the class for Daingerfield High School, Sam Fowler, has captured the East Texas Student Athletic Trainer of the Year award.
Coach Derek Reed said this is the first time they have offered this award. “This is awarded by the East Texas Athletic Trainers Association,” Coach Reed said. “This is the first time they have had this award. It was open to any student athletic trainer in East Texas from 1A to 5A schools.
“There were 14 student trainers in Daingerfield this year. Any school that has student trainers could submit them. If you wanted to apply, you had to send in a resume with recommendations. There were five students chosen to come in for an interview and Sam was one of them.”
