Hughes Springs Clinic plans open house on July 31

Residents in Hughes Springs and the surrounding area are relieved that their clinic, formerly owned by Good Shepherd Medical Center, will be continuously offering services. Effective June 8, PhyNet Inc. completed the purchase of the Hughes Springs clinic located at 201 E. 2nd St.
Providers at the Hughes Springs Clinic under PhyNet are Darrell Bunch DO and Mary Corley FNP. PhyNet owns nine primary care medical facilities in East Texas including clinics in Lone Star, Jefferson, Gladewater, Linden, Big Sandy, Tatum and in Tyler.
Joan Gale, director of operations for PhyNet, said the community response has been wonderful since their company has assumed operations of the clinic.
“I would like to thank the community for being so supportive,” she said. “We plan on a long term relationship serving the community and we feel that coordinated health care for a rural community is our prime goal.
