Cass Country Deputy is placed on leave after fatal shooting

Cass County officials have placed Cass County Sheriff’s Deputy Johnny Bailey on administrative leave after a fatal shooting at approximately 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 27. Charles Alver Jones Jr., 33, was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooting occurred off Cass County Road 4915 south of Bloomburg. Officials said Deputy Bailey was attempting to serve felony warrants from Ward County for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second degree felony and assault of family/household member byimpeding breath, a third degree felony. 
Investigation into the fatality is being conducted by the Texas Rangers
