A driver and his passenger were both arrested and taken to Morris County Jail after a local traffic stop, according to Daingerfield Police Chief Tracey Climer.
“On July 20, at 1:30 a.m. Daingerfield Police Officer Brandon Fulcher conducted a traffic stop when he observed a vehicle was speeding,” Chief Climer.
“The driver was identified as Phillip Cavaliere, 27, of Longview. Officer Fulcher discovered Mr. Cavaliere’s driver’s license was suspended and he had no one to come and pick up the vehicle.
“During inventory of the vehicle, a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana was recovered from the center console, along with several items of paraphernalia. Mr. Cavaliere was placed into custody. The passenger, Daniel Shaklee, 26, of Longview, was placed into custody for public intoxication. Both subjects were charged with possession of marijuana under 2 ounces. Mr. Shaklee was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Mr. Cavaliere also received citations for speeding, driving while license invalid and possession of drug paraphernalia.” The vehicle was impounded by Stan’s Auto Service of Daingerfield.
