Services for Grace Marie Taylor Follis, 85, of Hughes Springs, will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 1, at Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Larry Neeley officiating. Burial will follow at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6 until 8 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Follis was born Sept. 8, 1928, in Hughes Springs. She graduated from Hughes Springs High School in 1946. She attended beauty college in Longview and operated Grace’s Beauty Shop in Hughes Springs for many years. Grace went to her eternal rest on Tuesday, July 29, at the East Texas Medical Center in Pittsburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Thomas Follis; her parents, Andy and Laura Taylor; one grandson, Steve Follis; three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Sue Follis of Hughes Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Vonda and Dr. Kit Shaddix of Lilburn, Ga.; grandson, Dr. Kyle Shaddix and wife, Dr. Meredith Shaddix of Jacksonville, Fla.; two granddaughters, Lori Follis of Longview and Kourtney Duffie and husband, Jon of Ocean City, Md.; two great-grandsons, Knox Shaddix and Colt Duffie; sister, Bernelle York of Hughes Springs; and two brothers, A. D. Taylor of Mount Pleasant and Wesley Taylor of Nacogdoches.
