The Northeast Police Academy at Northeast Texas Community College will offer both day and evening academy options this fall. Both programs will be held in the state-of-the-art criminal justice facility on the main NTCC campus.
The 17-week daytime fast-track academy will begin on Aug. 25. Courses meet from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. This intensive program is the fastest route to becoming a certified peace officer.
The evening academy begins on Sept. 29, and runs through May 8, 2015. Classes meet from 5-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and every first and third Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This program is designed for working adults who may not have time to complete the daytime academy.
Both programs provide students with all of the training needed to prepare them for certification as a Basic Peace Officer in the state of Texas.
