Full name: Shara Klaus.
I have lived in: Virginia, Oklahoma and Texas.
Family: Robert Klaus, husband; Dillon, son; and Ashley, daughter.
Pets: Two horses, four dogs and one crazy cat.
Occupation: Art teacher for Hughes Springs Independent School District. I also teach theater and photography to eighth grade students.
One of the best things about my job is: Watching and helping my students through the creative process, whichever one that might be. I love it. Never a dull moment.
My ideal vacation is: Anywhere warm on a beach with an ocean.
My favorite TV show is: ‘Walking Dead.’
My favorite healthy snack is: Chips and dip.
A cause I most believe in is: Having your pets spayed or neutered.
If I could change one thing about East Texas, it would be: Fewer bugs.
The person who has influenced my life most is: Would have to be my husband. We have been married for 25 years. We have stuck by each other through the good times and the not so good times. I have learned to accept his faults and mine.
The scariest thing that ever happened to me was: Having children.
If I had to do it all over again, I’d: I would not change a thing. Everything that has happened in my life has brought me to this point and I couldn’t be happier.
The most exciting or dangerous thing I’ve ever done was: Probably ride “The Superman” ride at Six Flags. I am terrified of heights. I will never do it again.
If I won a trip to anywhere, I would go to: I would love to travel see the wonders of the world. First stop the Great Wall of China.
Two words that describe me are: Creative and resourceful.
Included on my bucket list are: Traveling to Europe and becoming a Grandma, but not too soon.
