Some things are just a good idea

Ideas abounded at last month’s Next Step Community Solutions meeting held at noon at the Church on the Rock. Erin LaCoste is the coalition coordinator of the group which addresses things that adversely affect our children. 
This day she talked about statistics on underage drinking in East Texas. Several people attending the meeting gave their opinions on many things that are going on in the communities. They discussed ways to get the message across to the parents and to our minor children that children should not be allowed to drink alcohol. 
Toward the end of the meeting I heard a really fantastic idea that I hope is being put into practice. Someone suggested a drop box at the schools where students could pose a question anonymously or inform the school officials of something that is bothering them. That is just a real cool idea. I don’t know where they would put the box; I would think maybe at the principal’s office and possibly one in the cafeteria. I think maybe students wouldn’t want someone to see them putting a note in the box for one reason or the other so having a couple places may be better.
