Full name: Wendy Kay Bolton.
I have lived in: Ore City, Gulfport Miss., Gilmer and am now residing in Hughes Springs.
Family: My husband, Moses Bolton.
Pets: I have three fur babies, my Yorkie Butters and two labs, Abby and Pongo.
Occupation: I work as a phone operator for Bowie Cass Electric.
One of the best things about my job is: The people I work with are so wonderful. I’ve made some lifelong friendships. I truly love coming to my job every day.
My ideal vacation is: An Alaska Wilderness vacation. Give me a cabin, some woods and a place to fish and I will be in heaven.
My hero is: My mother, Karen Wilson. She has taught me to be a strong woman and a Christian. She has never given up on me even when I have given up on myself. She is the best mom ever.
My favorite TV show is: Idiot Abroad.
My favorite healthy snack is: Any kind of fresh vegetable.
A cause I most believe in is: Helping our youth. I love getting involved with our young ones so that they may reach their full potential and be a guiding hand when they need one.
If I could change one thing about East Texas, it would be: The danged old hot summers. I loathe summers in East Texas from the mosquitoes to the humidity.
The scariest thing that ever happened to me was: A couple of years ago we had a tornado in Hughes Springs. I saw it and heard it and freaked. I swear I haven’t been the same since.
If I had to do it all over again, I’d: Not change a thing. Life has thrown me a few curve balls but I would rather be someone that could relate than someone with no experiences.
The most exciting or dangerous thing I’ve ever done was: Letting Melanie, my sister, drive.
If I won a trip to anywhere, I would go to: Since I’ve already said Alaska, then it would probably be the United Kingdom. That way I could do some backpacking and see all kinds of places like Ireland, Scotland, maybe even hop the water and go into France.
I would have liked to participate in the historical event of: Any time when Jesus was around. It would be so awesome to witness miracles done by Him and actually lay eyes on Jesus.
Two words that describe me are: Kind and honest.
Included on my bucket list are: Skydiving, swimming with whales and cross country road trips.
I wish I had the courage to: Sell everything and go off grid. I would love to know the feeling of being self sufficient and just depend on yourself and what God has given us
