Lone Star residents will not see a rise in property taxes Council set tax rate and adopted budget

There were no public comments at the public hearing for setting the proposed tax rate and adopting the proposed budget at the Lone Star City Council on Aug. 28. The hearing was closed and the council went into session setting the tax rate at $.50 per $100 valuation anda dopting the proposed 2014-15 budget. The tax rate is the same as the previous year. The proposed budget for 2014-15 is $1,650,228, compared to last year’s budget of $1,296,416.
No action was taken on a request from Kerry McCoy concerning towing service for the city of Lone Star.
