Services for Jerry Michael Carpenter, 65, of Omaha, will be held at 2 p.m., on Sept. 10, at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Chapel in Mount Pleasant with Lloyd Bedsworth officiating. Interment will be in the Lone Star Cemetery under the direction of Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home. There will be a time of visitation on Sept. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Carpenter was born Nov. 11, 1948, in Gilmer and died Sept. 2. He was a truck driver for E.L. Farmer, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by father, Jessie Roy Carpenter; mother, Frances Dyar Carpenter; and two sisters, Dorothy Carpenter Epps and Wanda June Carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Gentry Carpenter of Omaha; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Kyle Carpenter and Jeremy and Judy Carpenter, all of Mount Pleasant, and Jason and Lacy Carpenter of Naples; one sister, Pat Freeman of Omaha; two brothers, Kenny Carpenter and James ‘Sunny’ Carpenter, both of Daingerfield; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
