Member cities will not see a water rate increase from water district

Water rates charged to the member cities will remain the same for the next year as approved by the Northeast Texas Municipal Water District board of directors at their Aug. 25 meeting. The member cities include Avinger, Daingerfield, Hughes Springs, Jefferson, Lone Star, Ore City and Pittsburg. The board adopted the budget for the 2014-15 year as $6,038,554. This is compared to last year’s budget of $5,889,035.
