Request for county tax abatement is tabled

A request for tax abatement for Texas Tubular Products’ new facility was tabled by the Morris County Commissioners for further information. Alex Alrue of Texas Tubular requested the tax abatement at the commissioners Sept. 8 meeting.
“We have started the construction on the facility,” he said. “We closed on the land earlier this year. We have started the dirt work and will finish soon. The metal building housing the facilityis about 75 percent complete. Other equipment that is needed has started to arrive. It won’t be functional until 2015.
