Waskom downs Mustangs 49-29

Hughes Springs entered Friday night’s game against the Waskom Wildcats having played a smash mouth game against Arp. Waskom proved just as difficult, with the Mustangs coming away on the losing side 49-29. Waskom jumped out to an early lead and didn’t look back. Waskom scored first and Hughes Springs was unable to capitalize on a couple of Waskom turnovers and were staked to a halftime deficient of 28-6. With Waskom running a version of the wish bone/ veer spread offense, the Hughes Springs defense was dealing with a myriad of runners.
