The Daingerfield-Lone Star Independent School District school board met Oct. 20 where a public hearing was conducted to review the district's Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) report.
The district received a superior achievement rating, scoring 70 out of 70 possible points. The district also received an award from the Texas Comptroller's Office.
“We are very proud of the superior rating on the FIRST.   Although it isn’t possible for the FIRST to give the total financial picture for a district, it is a fairly good system to signal possible areas of concern.  The Texas Comptroller’s Office has also awarded the district the Platinum Circle which is the highest level of recognition for financial transparency.  Our business office, administrators, and staff work conscientiously each day to be good stewards of the district’s funds.”
