I neither identify myself as a Republican or a Democrat. The two parties have had a love-hate relationship since their formations. But their party symbols to me are quite significant of some of (not all) people that identify themselves in these parties. A donkey, because some can be royal behinds (you get the idea) and an elephant to represent a party full of pompous winners. Don't get frazzled or take this the wrong way, let me explain.
I have friends, family and know a few politicians myself that identify themselves with one of the two parties. Many people are caught up on identifying themselves with a certain party, while scooting things under the rug just to get a vote. The way I see it, I look at morals and integrity. Did I vote for Obama, not within an inch of my life. Why? I had my own reasons. A friend of mine recently asked me are you Democrat or Republican? To which I answered with a simple reply of neither. My very outraged friend continued to bombard me with questions asking me to expand on my answer. I really would have liked to decline answering that question, but I felt I owed my friend a short explanation of why I do not identify myself with either.
