New Boston defeats Daingerfield in season finale

On the afternoon of Aug. 29 the opening game for the 2014 Daingerfield Tigers football team, a bad storm swept through the Daingerfield area knocking down trees, a light pole at the Tigers baseball field and knocking out all electricity to many in the Daingerfield-Lone Star area, including the Micky Mayne Tiger Stadium electricity. Daingerfield lost that opening game to Gladewater that night 34-13 in which the game had to be moved to Gladewater because we had no electricity. Little did we know that the 2014 Tigers football team would be in a continual storm for the remainder of this football season starting out losing it's first seven games in a row an eventually finishing the season 1-9 which equaled the worst record of a Daingerfield football team in the last 50 years when the 1964 team went 1-9.
