The Northeast Texas Community College Board of Trustees met last week where they reviewed the college's  independent annual audit.
The college received a clean opinion from Wilf and Henderson, PC of Texarkana. A clean opinion, also known as an unqualified opinion, states that financial statements of the college present a fair and accurate picture of the college and comply with generally accepted accounting principals.
“Audits are important aspects of public accountability and transparency," Dr. Brad Johnson, NTCC President said. " I am proud of our college staff, all of whom do their work honestly and professionally.  A clean audit provides proof of that.”
From the audit, NTCC's total net position was $16,203,164 for the end of the 2014 fiscal year, which was Aug. 31, 2014.
The net position gives a fiscal perspective of the college for the fiscal year that ended Aug. 31, which combines and consolidates current financial resources with capital assets.
The board also approved several other agenda items, including the monthly finance report as well as the approval of the minutes from last months meeting.
In other news, the board also released the district's soccer coach, Donovan Dowling, from his current contract. Dowling will be leaving the college to pursue other career options.
