Hughes Springs Police Dept. gains new officer

Hughes Springs Police Department has a new officer, Jimmy Simpler. Simpler replaces Scott Sartain who has been newly elected to the Morris County Clerk’s position. Police Chief Randy Kennedy said he looks forward to Simpler joining the force on Jan. 19.
“Scott was very professional and thorough in his job and I hated to lose him. Although, I do understand. The people of Morris County have made the right choice in choosing him in the election,” Chief Kennedy said.
