Hughes Springs basketball started things off last week on a high note. Both the girls and boys won on Tuesday, besting the teams from Pewitt. First off was the girls, who led from the onset and cruised to a 46-36 win. Breanne Gunn led the way with 21 points and 23 rebounds. Dominating in the paint has been something that Gunn has done all season, and Tuesday was no different. Four different Lady Mustangs had steals, with Lakendria Simmons leading the way with 3. Another big time contributor was sophomore Kayelyn Roth, who poured in 10 points and 5 rebounds.
