April designated as Autism Awareness Month
April, as well as having been Child Abuse Awareness month, is Autism Awareness month.
Autism is a disorder that, according to the Centers for Disease Control in 2014, is diagnosed in
1 out of every 68 children. Autism is known as a spectrum disorder, meaning that if affects individuals differently and to varying degrees.
