Clifton Eugene Hurtt
Funeral services for Clifton Eugene Hurtt, 69, of
Gilmer, were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29,
at Oak Hill Missonary Baptist Church in Upshur
County with Bro. Robbie Caldwell and Bro. Dickey
Mauk officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery
under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in
Gilmer. Mr. Hurtt passed away on Saturday, July 25
in Shreveport, Louisiana.
He was born on September 11, 1945, in Corsicana,
Texas to Clifton Lee Hurtt and Cora Belle Steward
Hurtt. Mr. Hurtt served in the U. S. Army during the
Vietnam War and was a Purple Heart recipient. He
worked in the Oilfield and was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Hurtt is survived by his wife, Holly Hurtt of
Gilmer; son, William Eugene Hurtt and wife, Amy
of Gilmer; daughter, Gena Ann Dunaway and husband,
James of Ore City, Lora Kristalyn Christensen
and husband, Cody L. of Elsinore, Utah; step-sister,
Barbara Joe Kinley and husband, Michael of Jackson
Hole Wyoming; grandchildren, Melanie Terwilliger,
Nicholas Allen Hildebrand, Krystian Allison
Hurtt, Carter Dunaway, Nolan Eugene Hurtt, Janey
Lynn Hurtt, William Daniel Hurtt and Luella Rachel
Hurtt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his
daughter, Holly Rachel Hildebrand, his sister, Georgia
Ann Hauptan and step-mother, Harriett Hurtt.
