The Gun Control Debate: here we go again.

Well, once again we find ourselves dealing with another example of President Obama overstepping his bounds. His latest circumvention of the constitution is his recent executive action on gun control. This move is sure to fire up the republican base for the 2016 election. Law abiding gun owners in this country have been unfairly targeted every time there is a shooting incident and the backlash from this harassment is coming. Mass shootings by terrorists or by mentally disturbed individuals are not the fault of law abiding gun owners. But they are the ones who always get punished. Let’s take a look at what the dictator in chief has proposed this time. Increased background checks: The president said he is going to enhance background checks especially for smaller sales. There is also a proposal to require anyone wishing to sell a gun other than a dealer to register with the government as a firearms dealer. Private gun sales have always been legal in this country. But now he wants to force all individual purchasers to get a background check before you can sell a gun to a private individual at a gun show or to your neighbor. The president said he wanted to crack down on the internet sale of guns. News flash Mr. President, we already have mandatory background checks when purchasing a firearm online. When a gun is purchased online it must be shipped to a licensed FFL dealer. And that dealer must do a background check before the buyer can take possession of it. Closing the “Gun Show Loophole”: There is no gun show loophole. As I just mentioned, private gun sales have always been legal for decades. What he proposes to do is this: if you or I want to sell a gun at a gun show, we would have to pay to have a background check run before we could sell our firearm. All licensed dealers are already required to do a background check on all buyers of guns in Texas unless you have a valid Texas CHL or License to Carry. Those individuals have already had extensive background checks done on them to qualify for the license. Here is the problem with President Obama’s logic. First of all, Barack Obama knows nothing about firearms. He makes statements about statistics that he simply manufactures out of thin air. He claims 90% of Americans support tougher gun control laws. That is simply false. The president’s ideology of less guns equals less crime is also a fairy tale. Cities like Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, and Washington D.C. have the strictest gun control laws in the nation and yet they have the highest crime rates of any city in the nation. Study after study has shown that any area of the country where firearm ownership is high, the crime rates are drastically lower. The thing that is so disgusting about President Obama’s rhetoric is that he cares nothing about statistics, especially if they don’t fit the narrative for his agenda. He relies on advisors who are not even qualified to hold their positions and who just tell the president what he wants to hear. If he needs a statistic that s u p p o r t s his wishes, they simply make one up. America’s gun owners could quote statistics all day long that would refute all of Obama’s false ideas about gun control, but he simply would not listen to them. He has made up his mind that he is going to do everything in his power, and in this case, even doing things that are not in his power to disarm as many Americans as possible before he leaves office. Anyone who owns a firearm and who voted for this fraudulent president should be ashamed. The right to keep and bear arms was given to us by our forefathers over 235 years ago and now a self proclaimed dictator is attempting to take that right away due to his disdain for the American way of life. And if you own a gun and intend on voting for Hillary Clinton in 2016 than you are a fool because she has already stated that she will support all of President Obama’s gun control initiatives if she becomes president. The president has played his cards and now it will be up to the Supreme Court to decide whether his actions will stand. Our constitution is far more important than the personal agenda of an anti American president. I told many of you several times that another civil war would occur in our lifetime. The president has fired the first shot in that war, and now it is our responsibility to defend the constitution because it is painfully clear Mr. Obama is intent on destroying it with more of his illegal executive actions.
