BRADLEY, SR.

Gwen Dale Bradley, Sr. was born July 27, 1923 in Hughes Springs, Texas to Daniel Olin and Lena Maybelle Bradley. He was the oldest of five children. He received Christ in 1935 at age 12 and was baptized at Crossroads Baptist Church in Arkansas. Dale married Jamie Carolyn Beavers Davis in July 1982. Mr. Bradley was a WWII veteran serving in the Navy on the U.S.S. Vicksburg, Seaman 2nd Class in charge of the machine shop.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was elevated to Master Mason in 1957 at Odessa Lodge #955. He moved his membership to Park Place, Houston and is currently with Bedias Lodge in Bedias, Texas. In 2007 he received his certificate for 50 years of service. He owned Bradco in Humble, TX.; worked at C & A Machine in Houston for 10 years; owned Meither Machine; worked for Shell & Ethel Oil; and his last job was as owner of Accurate Machine in Magnolia, Texas.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn; children, Gwen Dale “Butch” Bradley, Jr., Carolyn Sue Bonds, Donna Jo Parker, Sammy Charles Bradley; step-children, Linda Masoud, Virginia “Ginger” Little, Tonya Walker; many grandchildren; and two sisters, Pattie Perkins and Mary Alice Keller. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel George Bradley; daughter, Paulette Patterson; and stepson, Charles Ray Davis, Jr.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Burial followed at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.
