WALLACE

John Wilber “Johnny” Wallace was born July 15, 1941 in Pittsburg, and passed away Feb. 25, in Hughes Springs. Johnny retired from Texas & Northern Railway after 38 years, most of those years as superintendent of transportation. He has been a member of First Baptist Church in Hughes Springs for more than 60 years. He was a deacon, serving as secretary and treasurer. He has served in the music ministry for 50 years in various roles, from choir member to interim music director.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, W.D. and Elma Katherine Wallace. He is survived by his wife 45 years, Kay Samples Wallace; sister, Carla Collins; children, Craig Wallace (Christina Wallace, Amanda Hartsiel, Aaron Wallace), Scott Wallace (Kari Wallace, Cody Wallace, Kasey Wallace), Wendy Middleton (Kent Middleton, Sina Middleton, Sean Middleton).

Services for Mr. Wallace were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at First Baptist Church in Hughes Springs with Bro. Mickey Rorex and Bro. Daniel Bramlett officiating. Burial followed at Bradfield Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.
