Grab your Easter baskets and bring your kids to the Avinger Park Saturday, March 26. The Avinger Easter Egg Hunt is free and open to all children age 12 and under. Candy-filled eggs will be hidden all over the park. There will be a prize for the most eggs found, and some of the eggs have money in them. The annual Easter in the Park, sponsored by the Avinger Area Chamber of Commerce, starts at 1:00 p.m., and refreshments will be available after the hunt is over.
Elaine Moulton, Avinger Chamber of Commerce president, announced March 8 at the regular chamber meeting that volunteers are still needed for many of the activities planned for the April 21-23 Wildflower Trails Festival in Avinger. “We have so many events and activities, and we are looking for people who can contribute as little as two hours – or, more if they want. We need people to help out at the Sweet Shoppe, the Art and Photography show, the parade, the Kids Casting Contest – just about everywhere.” Anyone interested in volunteering during the three-day event is encouraged to contact Elaine Moulton at 903-601-1370 or emoulton@windstream.net.
