Ayers & Bass win tournament boys doubles

The Daingerfield High School Varsity Tennis team competed in the Hughes Springs Varsity Tennis Tournament onFriday, March 18. Daingerfield’s boys doubles team of Nic Ayers/Tucker Bass won the Boys Doubles Championship match by defeating Gabriel D o m i n g u e z / B r i a n Hollingsworth of Ore City (8-4).

The championship match took place in Ore City at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19 due to rain Friday evening. En route to the championship, on Friday, Ayers/Bass had defeated Tanner Jackson/Noah Thompson of Redwater (8-4); Neil Cecil/Ethan McKeever of Hooks (8-5); and Cody Williams/John Willis of Hughes Springs (8-3) before the rain started. Also participating in the tournament for Daingerfield in girls singles was Madison Cox and in girls doubles were Bayley Sullivan/Kallye Sullivan.

Next up for DHS Tiger Tennis is a match at home with the Tigers of Linden- Kildare on Monday, March 21 starting at 3:00 p.m.
