April 7 Zumba Classes

Zumba classes will be held every first Thursday in the month at 7:00 p.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church. The church is located at 4410 CR 4950, in Cason. Cost is $5.00.

April 10 Made By Mercy Concert

First Baptist Church in Cason invites the public to a service of praise with the upcoming southern gospel group, Made By Mercy. The concert will be at 7 p.m. on April 10, at First Baptist Church, Cason.

April 10 Library Fundraiser

First Baptist Church will host a fundraiser for the Hughes Springs Library on April 10, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. The meal will consists of Gumbo and other soups. The event will be held in the CLC of First Baptist Church, and all proceeds will go to the Hughes Springs Library.

April 10-13 AWAKEning Event

Liberty Baptist Church of Naples will be hosting the AWAKEning 2016 Event April 10-13th. This four night event will be held at Liberty Baptist Church on Daingerfield Street starting at 7:00 PM nightly. Bro. Randall Trull will be the speaker. April 11 Beekeepers Meeting

The Caddo Trace Beekeeping Association will meet Monday April 11 at the Agri Life Building in Mount Pleasant. The program will be on Bee History and Bee Charities presented by Willow Lanchester, 2016 Texas Honey Princess. Question and Answer session starts at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting at 7:00 p.m. The meeting is open to the public. The last 2016 CTBA Beginning Beekeeper Class will be held April 9. April 11-13 Spring Revival

Wallick Chapel Christian Church in Daingerfield will host their Spring Revival on April 11-13 at 7 p.m. nightly. Rev. Don Hill will be the evangelist, with Rev. Wayne Robinson as host pastor. The public is cordially invited to attend.

April 12 Genealogical Society Meeting

The Cass County Genealogical Society will hold its regular second Tuesday Meeting on April 12. The meeting will include a guest speaker or speakers that will tell about their search for their ancestors or a unique tidbit from the history of Northeast Texas. The meeting will start at 6:30 pm and we hope that as many of you as possible will join us for this interesting and informative monthly meeting in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church of Queen City at Marietta and Fourth Streets. April 16 Wildflower Trails 5k Run and Walk

The 26 Annual Wildflower Trails 5K will be held on April 16. Registration will be from 7 a.m. to 8:15 a.m., and the race will begin at 8:30 a.m. The event will begin at the City Park Pavilion, located beside City Hall. pril 17 104 Church Anniversary

Hughes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate their 104 Church Anniversary on April 17 at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Anthony Castleberry and New Light Baptist Church in Linden will be their special guests. Services will be held at the Traylor Community Center in Hughes Springs.

April 18 Wildflower Trail Ride The 27 Annual Wildflower Trail Ride will leave the Atlanta area on Monday Morning, camp at the American Legion Hall on Friday. Coggins are required. The parade will be at 10 a.m. Saturday morning. Riders are welcome any and all days. For more information, contact Roger Westmoreland at 903-235-9778.

April 21-23 Wildflower Trails

Avinger and Hughes Springs will once again host Wildflower Trails the weekend on April 21 through 23. See upcoming editions of the Steel Country Bee for more information on the scheduled events.

April 23 Second Annual Tanner Allen Memorial Scholarship Football Tournament

The Allen family invites the public to participate in the Second Annual Tanner Allen Memorial Scholarship Football Tournament, to be held on April 23 at the Paul Pewitt Stadium. April 27 Region 8 Parent Conference

The Region 8 Education Service Center in Pittsburg will be hosting a parent conference entitled “Rooted in Service for Success.” Keynote speaker for the conference will be Tim Harris of “Tim’s Place.” The conference will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and lunch will be provided.
