HS Girls’ tennis wins district

The 16AAA District Tournament was held last week in Hughes Springs Springs. The Hughes Springs Varsity Girls were crowned Team Champions, while the varsity boys were the runner up.

For the Varsity, Nayla Girard was the District Champion in girls’ singles. Carson Moreland and Cypress Wright placed second in girls’ doubles. Savannah Wright and Austin King placed third in mixed doubles, while Cody Williams and John Willis placed third in boy’s doubles.

For the Junior Varsity, Raphael Guilherme placed first in boys singles, followed by Denum Curry in third place. Kirbie Young placed 3rd in girls singles. Austin Sampson and Joseph Montalvo placed first in boys doubles, while Noah Childress and Camden Skinner placed second. Dylan Freeman and Jaley Wallace rounded the tournament for Hughes Springs, placing second in mixed doubles.
