Tigers score seven in first inning, rout Linden, 17-2
The Daingerfield Lady Tigers came up big on the diamond on Wednesday, when they welcomed the Linden-Kildare Lady Tigers to Town. The home Tigers won the clash, 17 to 2.
Pitcher Camryn Byrd brought her season record to within one game of .500 with the win. Byrd gave up one hit and one base on balls. Byrd was also a force at the plate, as well, knocking a single and a double. She also accounted for seven runs for Daingerfield, scoring three and batting in four. Byrd also added a stolen base.
Alexis Porter was also a giant at the plate, with a single and a double on her was to scoring three runs. Porter also stole three bases on Linden pitchers, as well. Denver Mims added a single with two runs scored and two stolen bases, and Meme Black a double with two runs scored and two runs batted for the hometown Tigers.
The Lady Tigers traveled to Pewitt on Friday, April 15. Byrd again took the mound for the Tigers, this time taking the loss, 3 to 4. Byrd pitched six innings, allowing four runs on four hits. She also walked two while striking out seven. Bryd and Ashlyn Fomby both contributed two singles in the loss.
The Lady Tigers hosted their final home game on April 19, against Chapel Hill.
