Savannah Wright of Hughes Springs received a Trustee Scholarship to Harding University, amounting to eight semesters of full tuition. Wright is one of 27 Trustee Scholars who will be freshmen at the University this fall.

The scholarship is highly competitive and attracts numerous applicants each year. To be considered, candidates must score at least a 31 on the ACT or 1360 on the SAT and must have a 3.5 or higher high school GPA. Other areas of academic achievement, leadership and extracurricular involvement are also taken into account, and candidates are interviewed by a selection committee at the University. Wright will also be considered for admission into the honors scholars program, the top tier of the Honors College.

“It will be exciting to see how these students will serve and in what leadership roles they will be involved,“ said Glenn Dillard, assistant vice president for enrollment management. “The fall 2016 freshman class may be the most impressive group of new students Harding has ever had. We can’t wait for them to join the Harding family in August.”

Harding is the largest private university in Arkansas and has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report for 22 consecutive years as a top 25 school in the South. Harding also maintains study abroad programs in Australia, Chile, England, France, Greece, Italy and Zambia. For more information visit www.harding.edu.
