It's time for Energy Industry Unions to wise up
A Patriot's Opinion
By Jim Snyder
I am sick and tired of watching the Democrat Party doing their best to destroy the oil and gas industry. Oh and don’t even try to tell me that they have not been doing so. But just as disturbing is watching the unions who represent their workers continue to support the same party who are trying to put them out of business. I am talking about folks who work in the energy business, specifically union workers in the energy industry. Energy Industry Unions have consistently voted democrat for years. Democrats vote against the oil industry and have for decades. So, why would anyone who works in the oilfield, or in any oilfield- related industry, vote democrat? That’s a question that I have been asking for years. The number one excuse I always hear from energy union workers is, “Democrats support labor.” Really? When was the last time you saw a democrat politician do anything to help the oil industry? That’s right, you haven’t. They vote against the industry you work in so how is that in any way supporting labor.
For 7 years I have watched Barack Hussein Obama do everything he can to destroy the energy business. He made sure the Keystone Pipeline project was not approved by dragging his feet on the project for years, even after union workers begged him to approve it. He has devastated the coal industry with unrealistic EPA regulations and put thousands of Americans out of work. His constant railing that global warming (now climate change) is being caused by mankind is costing Americans their jobs. The fact is the current administration hates the oil and gas industry. Mr. Obama killed drilling in the Gulf of Mexico after the BP oil spill. He has closed or withheld drilling permits all across the United States on federal lands. Just this past month, Mr. Obama slapped American workers in the face once again by banning oil exploration in the Atlantic Ocean. What is most disturbing about this is the fact that a lot of union energy industry workers voted for this man. And now they are more than likely lining up to vote for Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders, two more democrats who despise the energy industry. Does anybody else see the problem yet?
It still flabbergasts me how anyone who works in the energy sector can vote for any democrat candidate. These people hate what you do for a living so why do you go out of your way to support them? Voting for a person or a party that votes against the industry that you rely on to support your family is the ultimate shooting yourself in the foot scenario. It can’t be any simpler to explain. But yet there are still union members in the energy sector who are lining up to vote for Hillary Clinton. This woman has done nothing to help or support the oil and gas industry. Barack Obama has nearly destroyed the job market in the oilfield business. Hillary Clinton will finish that job by completing the destruction of that industry. My gosh, she just told a crowd at a campaign stop recently that she plans to put “A lot of coal miners and coal mines out of business.” Again how can anyone who works in our industry support someone who is telling you she will do her best to put you out of work?
I’m tired of the same old tired rhetoric that politicians use to get elected. Democrats will tell you that “They support labor,” but how is voting against your livelihood in any way supporting you? If you work in the oil and gas industry I’ll tell you what supports labor: orders for oilfield pipe, that’s what. It’s time that folks get their heads out of the sand when it comes to America’s energy independence. We have the resources right under our feet to compete with anyone in the world when it comes to energy. But we have been handcuffed by democrat politicians who were elected by telling their constituents that they “support labor.” Stop listening to union bosses and political dribble and look at the facts. There is no democrat candidate for president who supports what we in the energy industry do for a living. I have watched too many people get laid off or lose their jobs due to the incompetence of this president and his administration. Why would anyone want to continue with this kind of down turn. It’s time for energy workers to realize what is being done to them and break this cycle of thinking democrats are the solution. Democrat policies are the reason the oil and gas industry is struggling right now. And they only want to make it worse if they continue to hold the power in Washington. If you work in an oilfield related business and you’re not voting Republican you really need to do some research and some soul searching because you are shooting yourself in the foot if you are still voting
