June 2 Whirled on a String

The Daingerfield Public Library will host “Whirled on a String,” a yo-yo presentation at the Morris County Annex at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 2. Admission is free and all children are welcome.

June 4 Burleson Family Reunion

The descendants of Pleasant Wright Burleson and Arcadia Whittle Burks are invited to a reunion June 4, 2016 at Atlanta, TX First Baptist Church, 306 Baker St., Atlanta, TX 75551. www.atlantafbc.org. June 4 103 Birthday Celebration

Family and friends of Curley Jimmerson will gather at Dalton Community Center to celebrate Curley’s 103 birthday. The celebration will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Community Center located on Highway 155. Friends and family are invited to attend.

June 6-30 Children’s Summer Feeding Program

Daingerfield-Lone Star ISD will once again be serving free sack lunches to any child, 18 and under during the Summer Feeding Program. In Lone Star, meals will be at the Lone Star City Park at 11 a.m., and at Country Square Apartments at 11:30 a.m. In Daingerfield, lunches can be picked up at the City Park at 11 a.m. The program is free for all children ages 18 and under.

June 7-9 Annual Revival

The Pine Bluff Baptist Church, located on Highway 250, between Marietta and Hughes Springs, will be hosting their annual revival on June 7 through 9 at 7:30 p.m. Speakers for the three nights will be Reverend D.L. Fluellen, Reverend Eddie Matthews, and Reverend A.R. Miller. Host pastor Reverend Roy Miles cordially invites the public to attend.

June 9 Smokey the Bear

Smokey the Bear will visit with children at the Hughes Springs area library beginning at 10:30 a.m. The program is free for children of all ages, and parents are encouraged to bring their cameras to take photos.

June 9 Zooniversity

The Friends of the Public Library will host Zooniversity at the Morris County Annex at 10 a.m. as part of the library’s summer events. The event will be free and open for all children.

June 16 Kornpop the Clown

Kornpop the Clown will visit children at the Morris County Annex at 10 a.m. on June 16. The event is free and open to all children. The Friends of the Daingerfield Public Library is hosting the event.

June 16 Professor QB the Magician

The Hughes Springs Area Library will host Professor QB, the Magician, as part of their summer program. The program is free, and all children are invited.

June 23 Dru Woods, storyteller

The Hughes Springs Area Library invites children of all ages to come hear storyteller Dru Woods as part of the library’s summer program. Admission is free, and the program will begin at 10:30 a.m.

June 23 Rancho Condarco Petting Zoo

The Friends of the Daingerfield Public Library will be hosting the Rancho Condarco Petting Zoo at the Morris County Annex at 10 a.m. The event, sponsored by the Friends of the Daingerfield Public Library, is free to the public, and all children are invited.

June 25 Benefit Gala

The Legacy will be hosting a Benefit Gala to benefit the Community Theatre of East Texas on June $25. The event will begin at 7:30, and include drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and entertainment. Tickets are on sale now until June 10. Contact Amanda Gammill at 903-767-5208 for ticket and event information.

June 25 11th Annual Fireman’s Sporting Clay Challenge

The Eleventh Annual Fireman’s Sporting Clay Challenge, benefitting the Crims Chapel and Rocky Branch Volunteer Fire Departments, will be held June 25. The event will be held at Prairie Creek Sporting Clays Ranch in Gladewater. June 30 TxDoT Safety program

The Hughes Springs Area Library will host a TxDoT Safety program for children of all ages beginning at 10:30 a.m. The program is free, and will be held at the Hughes Springs Library.
