The disconnect between Liberals and Guns

Following the horrific tragedy in Orlando Florida, liberals (i.e. democrats) once again chose to blame guns for the attack.

Of course, in order to blame the gun, they had to ignore the following facts. The fact that the shooter was Muslim, and the fact that he posted messages on his social media accounts claiming his allegiance to ISIS. And the fact that he hollered “Allah Akbar” while shooting people in the club. The fact that he made phone calls to several TV and radio stations telling them he was doing this in Allah’s name. The fact that ISIS sympathizers congratulated his efforts, all were ignored. But even with all of those facts known within 24 hours, liberals still somehow couldn’t seem to figure out the motive for the attack. So they resorted back to their standard operating procedure and went after Americans gun rights. Of course, no law abiding citizens were involved in any of these massacres, yet they are the ones that are always targeted in the end. So with all of that said let’s look at some myths and facts about guns.

One of the first falsehoods we will discuss is the dreaded background check. All gun sales by licensed dealers are required to have a background check completed before the sale, No Exceptions. President Obama and many of his minions have also claimed that people can just get on the internet and buy guns without a background check. FALSE. All internet gun sales are required to be transferred to a licensed FFL dealer. That dealer is required to perform a background check on ALL of those sales before the gun can be transferred to the prospective buyer. No background check, no gun.

Next is the dreaded AR-15 rifle. According to liberals and their media talking heads any rifle with a black plastic stock and forearm is an AR-15 in their mind. They also commonly refer to these rifles as “Automatic Assault Rifles”. That is another false statement. 99.999% of all of these rifles are not automatic rifles, they are “semi-auto”. That means the trigger must be pulled every time to fire one shot. An automatic rifle or machine gun is designed to pull the trigger once and multiple shots are fired. None of these rifles sold in the civilian market are capable of that. In order for anyone to purchase an actual automatic rifle one must acquire a class 3 permit which is extremely difficult to get. The other part of the misconception is the “Assault Rifle” label they use. Any rifle can be an assault rifle. The term assault describes someone’s actions. People are assaulted with knives everyday but they don’t call those assault knives now do they. Just because you add or change the appearance of a gun does not make it an assault weapon.

The dreaded AR-15 is also assumed to be t h i s powerful rifle that can take down an elephant. Basically speaking anyone who owns a deer rifle has a rifle that is more powerful and destructive than an AR-15. The main problem with liberals is they know nothing about guns in general. They know nothing about their operation or capabilities. They also know nothing about current laws and regulations. They are operating on emotion. They sensationalize their argument with myths and non-truthful statements hoping the average person won’t know any better. And they never ask someone who does know the facts for assistance. They should remember the old saying about if others think you are a fool, don’t open your mouth and prove them right.

It angers me greatly to see what our country has been transformed into in the past seven years. Once we lose our second amendment right to protect ourselves, the end of our other rights will not be far behind. We have a terrorist group doing their best to kill us on our own soil. And rather than supporting our ability to protect ourselves and our families from this threat, the president is doing his level best to restrict our rights. It seems he has been more interested in apologizing to our enemy than protecting us from them. I wish he would get as angry about defeating ISIS as he seems to be with law abiding gun owners.
