Fifth Judicial Court announces disposed cases

Randal Lee, Criminal District Attorney, released the following information on cases disposed of in the Fifth Judicial Court of Cass County for the Month of August, 2016. Bill Miller was the Presiding Judge. The following were all jail or prison sentences.

William Paul Singleton, of Hughes Springs, was sentenced to seven years in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for Burglary of a Habitation. Singleton was also sentenced to seven years Institutional Division, TDCJ, for evading arrest or detention with a vehicle. Singleton was also ordered to pay $314.00 in court cost.

Brian Anthony Preciado, of Hughes Springs, was sentenced to five years in the TDCJ Institutional Division for assault causing bodily injury, family violence with previous conviction. Preciado also was sentenced to five years for bail jumping and failure to appear, and ordered to pay $314.00 court costs. Preciado’s sentences will run concurrently.

Brendan Thomas Huggins, of Hughes Springs, was sentenced to 10 years Institutional Division, and suspended 10 years community supervision for forgery. Huggins also was ordered to pay $1,000.00 fine, and $314.00 in court cost.
