The Avinger School Board has approved purchase and installation of additional security cameras for its campus, as well as upgrading existing cameras. “We will be adding cameras inside the school as well as replacing some of the existing equipment,” said AISD Superintendent Jacqueline Smith. “This will improve our ability to monitor student activity throughout the day, and help to identify and even prevent bullying and harassment as well as address disciplinary issues.”

Additional cameras are also planned for the exterior of the campus, “so that we can know who is on or around the premises. Safety and security of our students and staff is of paramount importance, and this will give us a better picture at all times of who is on our campus and what they are doing.”
