Residents celebrate National Night Out

Music blasting from the gazebo, people eating hotdogs, and students playing football were just some of the scenes from Daingerfield City Park on Oct. 4. No, it was not the beginning of Daingerfield’s annual Fall Festival, but rather something with a greater meaning than just food and fun.

In towns across Texas, police officers and residents gathered to participate in National Night Out. The scene in Daingerfield was set at the city park, where Daingerfield Police officers mixed and mingled with Daingerfield residents. There was face painting, balloons, and karaoke. Sergeant Corey Parr and Officer Ruben Ayala played football with local students. Sergeant Susan Laake handed out balloons to children, while the local tattoo artist painted faces for anyone willing.
