Cross Country places in Top 25 at Regionals
The Daingerfield Tigers and Lady Tigers recently competed at the Region II UIL Cross Country Championships, held on Oct. 29 at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie.
In the varsity girls division, the top three finishers for the Lady Tigers were Jakayla Neal placing 89th, Layla Johnston placing 97th, and Madison Cox placing 134th. Also running were Jazmin Solis placing 146th, Yesenia Bravo placing 160th, Claire Smith placing 161st and Kahleyia Johnson placing 165th. As a team these young ladies finished 20th in the region.
In the varsity boys division, the top three finishers for the Tigers were Juan Olguin placing 94th, Moises Alejo placing 147th and Nathaniel Dancer placing 160th. Also running were Angelo Vasquez placing 161st, Nicholas Ferguson placing 168th and DeAndre Jimmerson placing 175th. As a team these young men placed 23rd in the region.
“As always it is bittersweet when the season ends, but we accomplished so much this year. And as always, thank you all for your continued support throughout the year for our athletes. It is greatly appreciated,” said Coach Dana Carter.
