The Daingerfield Lady Tigers have shifted their focus from volleyball to basketball, and played a full slate of games on Nov. 5 in preparation for the upcoming season.

The junior varsity and varsity traveled to Pittsburg on Nov. 5 for scrimmage action. The Junior Varsity Ladies were led by Taquasia Latchison with 10 points and Jamie Nix with eight points. Tori Bennett, Dee Hall, and Jahkayla Doddy helped their team by playing tenacious defense.

The Varsity ladies lost to Pittsburg the first game, tied Grand Saline in their first meeting, and then beat both teams in their second matchups to end the day 2-1-1. The Lady Tigers are very young, with no seniors, but are extremely scrappy. Both squads are working hard to learn new plays, get in basketball shape, and adjust to the high school game.

The ladies had their first games in Jefferson on Tuesday, Nov. 8. The first home game is slated to be Linden-Kildare in a varsity only matchup starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11. This starting time may change due to football playoff game in Spring Hill.
