Holiday season underway with multiple experiences
With the Thanksgiving turkey ready for Thursday, area communities have already planned their holiday events for the Christmas season.
Daingerfield will host “Breakfast with Rudolph” on Dec. 3. Santa’s rednosed friend will be at the Daingerfield Public Library from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m., sharing a light breakfast and taking photos.
The following Monday, Dec. 5, will be Daingerfield’s Christmas parade. The parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. Immediately following the parade will be “Christmas in the Park,” with singing, snacks, and Santa. Bring your cameras to both events to take photos with Rudolph or Santa.
Daingerfield will also be holding their annual Christmas Lighting Contest between Dec. 16 and 18. All lights should be up by Dec. 16, and judging will be completed by Dec. 18. Prizes will be awarded for Best Business, Best Area, Best Home and Best Door.
Hughes Springs children can come in their pajamas and have breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 10. The jolly old fellow will be at the Christian Life Center of First Baptist Church in Hughes Springs at 9 a.m. Tickets will be available at Med-Shop Pharmacy or City Hall, as well as at the door. That afternoon, bring the family out for the Hughes Springs Christmas parade. The theme for this year’s parade will be “The Magic of Christmas,” and will begin at 4 p.m.
