Lady Tigers achieve postseason honors

Although the Lady Tigers’ volleyball season offered little to write home about, there were still several Lady Tigers who were honored with All- District selections recently.

Senior Camryn Byrd was selected to the first team by vote of the district’s coaches. There were also six Lady Tigers selected for honorable mention recognition in the district, as well. These included seniors My’Asha Buford, Courtney Makepeace, and Graci Runk. They were joined by juniors Denebria Hall and Kahleyia Johnson and sophomore Destiny Hurndon, as well.

The Lady Tigers fielded 11 student athletes on their varsity volleyball squad this year. Of those, ten were selected for the Academic All-District team, which recognized their work in the classroom as well as on the court. Lady Tigers earning this honor were My’Asha Buford, Camryn Byrd, Ashlyn Fomby, Denebria Hall, Destiny Hurndon, Kahleyia Johnson, Courtney Makepeace, Graci Runk, McKenzie Scott, and Monnorah Sok.
