December 8 Winter Wonderland of Trees

Windsor Place Nursing Center in Daingerfield invites the public to come enjoy their “Winter Wonderland of Trees” from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Dec. 8. Come see the trees and enjoy refreshments with the residents.

December 8, 9, 10, 11 A Christmas Carol

The Community Theatre of East Texas will be presenting “A Christmas Carol,” written by Charles Dickens, on Dec. 8, 9, 10, and 11. December 10 Breakfast with Santa

The Hughes Springs Chamber will host Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 9 p.m., at the First Baptist Church Christian Life Center. Tickets may be purchased in advance at Med-Shop or at City Hall in advance. Contact LouAnn Hopkins at 903-767-7660 for more information.

December 10 A Christmas Carol spoof

The Community Theatre of East Texas will be performing a special, one-show only, Fast Forward Spoof of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are limited to 75, and available on a first come, first served basis at the door only the day of the show. Come see this comical version of a timeless classic.

December 11 Family and Friends Day

Pine Bluff Missionary Baptist Church, located on Highway 250 between Hughes Springs and Marietta, will celebrate Family and Friend Day on Dec. 11 at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Paul A. Todd of the Faith Missionary Baptist Church from Marshall will be the special guest. The public is cordially invited to attend.

December 11 50th Anniversary

Pastor Dan Walker, of Hughes Springs Calvary Baptist Church, located at 34 County Road 2934, cordially invites all past and present members, community friends and fellow believers to join us in celebrating our 50th year as a church serving Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. The service starts at 3 p.m. There will be singing and a Celebration Message brought by Bro. David Hazelwood. A food fellowship will follow with plenty of snacks, sandwiches and drinks. December 11 The Foto Sisters String Trio Concert

Tickets are on sale now at The Legacy Event Center, and at Hughes Springs City Hall, for this amazing performance of The Foto Sisters String Trio. Tickets are $10, and will not be sold at the door. December 12 Santa Secrets/Silver Angels Tree Deadline

The annual Santa’s Secrets/Silver Angels Tree is available at the Hughes Springs City Hall . All gifts must be returned to City Hall by Dec. 12. Help provide gifts for those less fortunate.

December 16-18 Daingerfield Christmas Lighting Contest

The Daingerfield Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their Christmas Lighting Contest. Decorations and lights need to be up by Dec. 16. Judges will be roaming the streets between Dec. 16 and 18. This is limited to inside Daingerfield city limits, unless the Chamber is notified. Trophies will be awarded for: Best Business, Best Area, Best House, and Best Door.

December 17 Santa comes to Avinger

Bring your little ones and your camera to #7 Main Street in Avinger to visit Santa from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

December 24 Rudolph’s Red Nose Run

The fourth annual Rudolph’s Red Nose Fun Run 5k will take place Christmas Eve morning at 7:30 a.m. The course will start on Coffey Street in Daingerfield, near the round-about. The event is free, so come join the fun and run off that last minute Christmas stress.
