Dec. 22 Community Candlelight Service

Avinger United Methodist Church will host a community- wide Candlelight Service at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

December 24 Rudolph’s Red Nose Run

The fifth annual Rudolph’s Red Nose Fun Run 5k will take place Christmas Eve morning at 7:30 a.m. The course will start on Coffey Street in Daingerfield, near the round-about. The event is free, so come join the fun and run off that last minute Christmas stress.

January 1 First Day Hike

Come start the New Year off on the right foot with a First Day Hike and Daingerfield State Park. Meet at the trailhead at 2 p.m. Wear sturdy shoes, bring bottled water, and a hiking buddy for a Ranger-led 2 mile hike around the lake.

January 7 Introductory Beekeeping class

The Caddo Trace Beekeepers Association will hold a one day Introduction to Beekeeping Class on Saturday, Jan. 7. This class is for anyone interested in becoming a beekeeper or those new to beekeeping. The class will be 8am to 5pm and will be held at the Agri-Life Building in Mount Pleasant. A repeat of the class will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4. For further information call Jean Jeff at 903-380-9231.

February 4 Introductory Beekeeping class
