Spelling Bee
The Daingerfield-Lone Star Educational Foundation
will hold their annual Spelling Bee on Friday, Jan. 27 at
the Daingerfield High School Cafeteria. A BBQ meal will
begin at 6 p.m. Tickets will be $10 for adults and $5 for
children. Come join the fun.

Dance Class Registration
The Community Theatre of East Texas will host registration
for their upcoming dance classes on Saturday,
Jan. 28, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Information for classes
will be available at that time.

Hughes Springs Crystal Globe Awards
Hughes Springs Chamber’s Crystal Globe Awards &
Banquet will be held on Jan. 28, at 6:30 p.m., in the CLC
of First Baptist Church. Tickets are now on sale at Med
Shop and City Hall and cost $25.00 each. The theme of
this year’s banquet is “This Magic Moment,“ and entertainment
will be provided by Johnny Magic. Come join
us as we recognize outstanding members of business of
our community.

Driver Safety Class
There will be an AARP Driver Safety Class at Lone Star
Baptist Church on Saturday, Jan. 28, from 8:30 a.m. until
12:30 p.m. The cost is $15 for AARP members and $20
for non-members. The class is open to all drivers with a
valid driver’s license, but is geared to participants over
50. After completion of the class you may be eligible for
a discount on your automobile insurance premium.

Piano Recital
Dr. Ron Clinton, Northeast Texas Community College
Executive Vice President for Instruction, will perform a
solo piano recital on Sunday, Jan. 29 at 2:30 p.m. at the
Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets to the
concert are $15 for adults and $5 for children and NTCC
students with a current ID. Proceeds from the event will
benefit scholarships for NTCC students.

CTET Auditions
The Community Theatre of East Texas will be holding
auditions for their upcoming play, “Southern Fried
Funeral,” on Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. with callbacks on Jan. 31.
