Local men arrested by Kilgore police

KILGORE -- Two Daingerfield men were arrested Feb. 27 by Kilgore police after methamphetamine was found in their vehicle.

According to the Longview News-Journal, Hubert Dale Mercer, 50, and Randy William Sharp, 53, were charged with possession of a controlled substance, penalty group one measuring between four and 200 grams. Both men were also charged with possession of a controlled substance, penalty group one measuring between one and four grams.

Mercer was released on Feb. 28 on $50,000 bond from the Gregg County Jail. Sharp is still being held at the Gregg County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

According the News-Journal, police officers responded to the 1900 block of Meadowgreen Court on Monday, Feb. 27 when a resident reported suspicious behavior.
